About us
Cedar Allied Health began with a simple belief: that people are not numbers, and care should never feel clinical.
We wanted a practice that feels less clinical and more human. A place grounded in warmth, safety and inclusion, where learning about yourself feels like growth, not an assignment.
Whatever brings you to us, we’ll meet your family with kindness and take the time to understand your child.
Getting to know Cedar
How we can help
Our story
Our story began over 18 years ago, at a community services course, in a small country town, with a mission to help people. Born from a simple belief: that people are not numbers, and care should never feel clinical.
We dreamed of building a place where clients are treated as people first, where support is genuine, connection is real, and everyone who walks through our doors is shown kindness and care.
Why we're called Cedar
We chose the name “Cedar” for the tree it’s named after, one that grows slowly and roots deeply, standing for centuries with broad branches offering shade and shelter. The cedar has long been a symbol of strength, endurance and protection.
We chose it because meaningful change works the same way: patiently, from the roots, in a space where you feel safe enough to grow.
Our approach
We’re neuro-affirming and strengths-based. We start with who your child is, what they’re good at and what matters to them, not a list of what’s wrong.
We work closely with parents, and with schools too, including classroom observations where they’d help.
Funding and referrals
You don’t need a referral to book with us. To claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll first need a Mental Health Treatment Plan — your GP can let you know what’s needed under the current Medicare rules.
We also see NDIS participants whose plans are self-managed or plan-managed. Not sure what applies to your family? Ask us when you call.
